more family came over for lunch today. i made dessert. i was inspired by jake's dessert pizza and ever since i ate it i've been wanting it again. so thats what i made today! and it was wonderful. here's just a slice...

on it i put...apples, strawberries, kiwi, peaches, blueberries and raspberries. matthew, i bet you wish i had made this while i was still in berrien...haha.

domo kun.

a big package was dropped off at my house this afternoon. and inside was...a big domo kun! haha. i saw this guy while we were in boston at newbury comics. i wanted to get him but i knew he was too big to bring back in the car [mostly because ed decided it was necessary for him to bring his entire life in a few huge suitcases]. then i later saw him in chicago at rotofugi and yet again i knew he was too huge to fit in mello's truck seeing as the two of us had our lives stuffed in there already.

but i have him now! THANK YOU ASHLEY! you're the best.

long lost friends.

i was looking through some of the photos from the roadtrip we took during spring break and now i'm a little sad.

less than a month ago we were all going to the same school [minus irv, but he was only an hour and a half away] and now we're all split up between illinois, texas, california, michigan and florida. ed will be here next week. so i get to see him. but wen am i going to see the rest of you?!

i miss you guys. come visit me! or better yet...have you thought about moving to california? =]

bam. the lakers are in the finals. and once again all is well in the world of basketball.

family lunch.

my family came over the other day for lunch. it was nice to see everyone. my little cousin is getting bigger and bigger and i don't know how shes doing it so quickly.









my brother and i made red velvet cake balls for dessert. well my brother did most of the work...i just oversaw what he was doing.

usually when i get home my grandma tells me that i'm chubby or my face is rounder or something along those lines. but this time my grandma told me, "wow. you cut your hair. it looks nice. you look like...a...model."

yes! maybe it was a good thing i chopped off all my hair. and for once my diet at andrews didn't make me look chubbier, at least not in my grandma's eyes.

this i miss.

irv and i started taking photobooth pictures together every year on my birthday. while i know this one makes me look really washed out and i'm almost disappearing....i still love it.
why can't chicago and california be closer to one another?

birthday memories.

i know its been almost a month since my birthday, but i actually have some time now to catch up on posting the photos that i said, so long ago, i was going to post.

going through the photos from my birthday made me a little sad. i miss everyone! i still can't believe that so many of you came! i know everyone was extra extra busy with finals and everything that needed to be done before graduation. so thanks! thanks so much for coming and creating memories with me that will never be forgotten! =]

i was waiting all morning for irv to come to andrews from chicago. it took him over 3 hours to come pick me up. i was getting a little annoyed. little did i know he was running all over to pick up jimmy johns and little caesars for my party.

this is the best birthday cake that anyone has ever made for me! it was amazing! it was made out of something like 41 coconut cupcakes with chocolate frosting. genius. mello and ashley came up with this crazy idea to make me this ninja cake and sonja helped them frost the thing. all i have to say is i have no idea how you guys are ever going to top this one! i love it!

there were absolutely no matches at matthew and fred's apartment. so cristiane used the electric stove to light some paper on fire and then light the candles. i know it wasn't very safe. but it worked. vanja, tommy and aaron brought over some cupcakes with cool candles.

matt: "aww. you guys are just a little bit weird. together."

so i guess for some reason when tommy, matthew and i woke up that morning we all had the same idea to wear the same shirt. who would've thought we all would decide to wear the same le grand cru shirt on the same day and end up at the same party. haha

matthew came up with the idea that he wanted to take a picture with mello holding polaroids. hes a special one that matthew.






and for the best picture of the entire night. ammi took this photo and turned matthew into an alien. i love it. but matthew, never never put my laker jacket on. never ever again.

thanks again for the good times! i miss every single one of you! promise me that some time soon we'll all get together again. i'll cook the food.

home sweet home.

i'm home. all i've been doing the past few days has been catching up on some much needed sleep and trying to get some order out of my disastrous room. my stuff is here my stuff is there its all crazy. i can't think when my stuff is all over the place, so i'm pretty sure nothing is going to get done until everything is organized in my room.

its weird to be home. i'm not really sure what i think of it just yet...

to more important things...my first meal in the west. as soon as mello and i got to vegas we stopped at the first in n out we could find! it was wonderful.



i guess it seems like i wear my laker shirt a lot. haha. they had a game that night so its ok...
after in n out irv told me about this really FOB place called Pinoy Pinay. he said they had really good cantaloupe juice. those were the magic words, after he said that we had to go. it was soo hot in vegas and cold cantaloupe juice sounded like the perfect thing.


the closer we got to home the weirder it felt to almost be home. its good to be home. for now at least.

halfway point.

mello and i left irv's auntie's house in nebraska this morning. we're spending the night in colorado. in the mountains.

right when we got into the mountains it started snowing. it was so weird. there was so much snow! why? its the middle of may.

i'm gonna be home tomorrow. i get to watch the laker game in my house. sitting on my couch. and eating my momma's cooking. i can't wait. the only thing that will be missing will be irv. come visit me soon please.

last fattie night in the midwest.

so its our last night in the midwest. and what did i decide to do? eat good food with good company!

after church and an extremely short nap mello, irv and i met up with matthew, pat, nunz and ellen. we met at joy yee's to get drinks, even though we just went there on wednesday boba sounded really good.








after boba we did a little mother's day shopping. but i guess it was more like matthew did a little mother's day shopping while the rest of us tagged along. and after shopping we were all hungry. so we went to baisi thai.






i'm super full and super happy. i don't know if i'm ready to go home just yet...
mello and i start our roadtrip to california tomorrow. we're taking our time and making some stops so we probably won't get home till wednesday sometime?
our first stop is irv's auntie's house. so that means that...irv is coming with us for our first day of our trip!! maybe i can talk him into just driving all the way to california. =]
