ikea days.

Friday, January 30, 2009

i've never seen so many people at ikea before. i guess $50 pillows for $9.99 and free breakfast is enough to bring anyone and everyone out.

we got our free breakfast. but only after hearing the lady in front of us complain about how she thought everything was free and didn't want to pay for her french toast. and then another guy complaining about how he didn't want to pay for his jam.

really though. can't we just be happy that we just got a free breakfast and coffee and only had to pay $1 for some french toast?

sales and free things seem to bring out the worst in people.

rules for coloring.

"no no, tawny. you can't color his boots blue! they are always red and only red. since i don't have a red marker you can't color them. and no, you can't color the snow princess! only i can color the snow princess! here you can color the cat. but he has to be pink and only pink no other color is allowed."

this afternoon i had a photo shoot with my brother's best friend, briana. we, of course, worked up an appetite after taking all those photos and our last photo location happened to be right next to a pizza place - how perfect.

i'm glad i finally got to meet you bri! thanks for modeling and thanks for being my assistant, little brother.

we chat.

come visit me. ichat is fun, but it's just not the same.

spitz, bulan and johnny cupcakes.

Friday, January 02, 2009

this past week has been jam packed with nonstop fun times. its barely past 10 o'clock and i'm pooped.

today flew by too quickly. if it weren't for photographs i think i would forget half the things i do. thats not a very good thought - forgetting memories? not something i want to do.

so today's agenda was to go to all the places we wanted to go to yesterday, but couldn't since they were closed. spitz of course was high up on that list.

after dropping irv off so he could sleep before heading off to work the night shift, we headed to melrose. i was pleasantly surprised to find that there is a bulan right on melrose ave. so since that was also on the list we, of course, had to make a stop for dinner.

before dinner though, we made a stop at johnny cupcakes - you can't go to melrose without making a stop there. once we walked in...SURPRISE! he was there! AND remembers meeting and talking with me at the there's something in the cupcake mix release.

johnny, thanks for listening to what, i'm sure, seemed like my life story. hopefully i wasn't too boring. it was nice seeing you again. oh and i still think laker shirts is an amazing idea.

pat, debby and keith, thanks for letting me take you to some of my favorite places. come back soon. we still have soo many places that need visiting!

happy new year!

Thursday, January 01, 2009

and so the new year is already here. i can't believe how quickly the year ended. i'm glad '09 is here though...i'm ready for big changes and new beginnings.

pat and debby are here visiting so we all went out to LA. i can't believe how deserted everything was today. downtown was a ghost town. i've never seen the freeways so empty.

one place that wasn't deserted was little tokyo. there were new years celebrations going on and crowds and crowds of people. since we were in little tokyo we, of course, had to make a stop at yogurtland.

irv went a little overboard with his cereal toppings.

all the places we wanted to go to for dinner were closed...we finally ended up at islands. we met up with keith and 2 of his friends there. the food at islands is pretty good, but the service always seems to be horrible.

yum. cheese fries...

the americana always makes for a nice place for an after dinner walk.

thanks for visiting pat and debby. today was a great start to the new year. i'll see you in march! =]
