helicopters.

the bulk of my day yesterday was spent assisting mr. chet williams on a photo shoot that has to be one of the coolest we've done yet! chet sent me roughs of some of the images and this is one of my favs from the day...

just a few of the things i learned yesterday:

1. helicopters are amazing and i'm dying to go up in one
2. the police that fly them are pretty cool guys
3. san bernardino is the only county in the US that has given license to the police force to fire their guns while their helicopter is in the air <--- crazy!

just finished baking 16 loaves of zucchini bread. while i was back east no one harvested my zucchini, SO they grew to monstrous proportions. i was able to make all 16 loaves of bread from just one zucchini! :)

anyone want a loaf? please say you do! i can't eat them all by myself!! seriously though..who wants one?

ocf part II.

look! i was actually able to talk irv into riding the ski lift with me at the oc fair. i'll have to admit...it was a little scarier than i thought it was going to be.



is it true? is summer really almost over? i thought it just started! :|

back to the daily grind.

i'm home sweet home! just started unpacking and as soon as i opened my suitcase my room was filled with the smell of my grandma's cooking. i usually hate it when my clothes smell like food, but not tonight. the smell made me want to snap shut my suitcase and jump back on the plane and head straight back to the east coast. i love visiting family that i haven't seen is such a looong time. makes me feel so rejuvenated and inspired! i didn't want to come home!!

but, i do have to admit that i'm glad to be back where its dry (the humidity and i don't get along very well) and where there aren't any mosquitoes (you should see my legs, they were eaten alive!!).

to all my family + friends i left behind, i miss you terribly already. count on me coming back again soon! :)

i'm off to the east coast tomorrow!! and irv's off to the great midwest! have i packed yet? no, of course not! shhh don't tell irv though, he's been packed since friday! ha :)

our sunday afternoon was filled with:

1. treasure hunting at the rose bowl flea market
2. jamba juice
3. dots cupcakes
4. old town pasadena
5. many, many laughs

i think i'm gonna pass out now. been running on 2 hours of sleep today. the past 2 days have definitely been well worth the lack of sleep though!! :)

triple bypass.

yesterday irv and i went to the oc fair and met up with mello, ann, stephanie, mike and kaela while we were there.

this is what irv and i ate + drank:

1. deep fried oreos
2. chocolate dipped cone
3. veggie corn dogs
4. roasted corn
5. watermelon juice
6. giant funnel cake w/ strawberries

we didn't eat it all at once mind you. somewhere in between we all left the fair and ate dinner at native foods :)

yesterday kristianne and i had some photographic adventures in a handful of laundromats in redlands. isn't she great? i love this girl.

jylos jam + homemade nutella = perfect pair.

this afternoon jael and i made some homemade nutella! it was soo easy to make. did you know hazelnuts are actually pretty interesting? when you blend them they change in stages: dry, wet, clumped and finally smooth. quite entertaining actually.

movie mondays.

just had a perfect summer evening! we sat under the stars at the ocpac and watched mamma mia projected real big on the side of the building.

the only way to watch this movie is outside on a summer night surrounded by a few thousand people dancing, clapping and singing along. it was perfection. beach chairs, a picnic, fireflies and friends. i even saw a shooting star!! :)

i ate some of the worst thai food ever for dinner tonight.

pad thai = salty noodles
panang curry = spicy soup
free coconut ice cream = frozen coconut milk

i'm a sucker for good marketing, branding + packaging. i guess sometimes those things lure me in. should've looked at the obvious - absolutely no one in a restaurant during prime dinner hours probably means the food isn't that hot.

if you're looking for delicious thai food don't eat here. sorrie to say it, the people there were really nice. everything about the restaurant was so pleasing to the eye, but the food? terrible.
