of course, a stop for some frrrozen hot chocolate at serendipity3 was a must.
remember my first encounter with the slider truck? well this time i FINALLY got to try slidin' thru! ric & all the guys of slidn' thru are amazing. i loved searching for the truck's location, it felt like a treasure hunt :)
go here and vote for them to be a part of the next great food truck race! they're currently 5th, but a spot in the top 3 would be better. and hurry! voting ends this week.
ric, you are amazing!
eggplant caprese - grilled eggplant. roma tomato. basil. fresh mozzarella. balsamic reduction = the best.
then a mandatory stop at retro for some cupcake deliciousness.
another treasure hunt lead to a new discovery, philly's famous italian ices truck! the mango was my fave.
the fortune cookies at fin were homemade and the best i've ever had.
nothing like a campfire marshmallow shake from blt burger at 2 o'clock in the morning.
and my favorite new discovery...max brenner! a friend told me to go here and it did not disappoint. we only went for dessert, so i still have so many things to try..
the euphoria peanut butter chocolate fudge sundae. deep chocolate peanut butter ice cream, dulce de leche ice cream, caramelized toffee bananas, pure chocolate chunks, milk chocolate sauce & warm peanut butter sauce. garnished with whipped cream & crunchy hazelnut bits = divine.
not pictured: lunch at the bellagio buffet & a stop at jimmy john's.
yes, it's true. while some may go to vegas to party & gamble, i go to eat.
i don't know if its right or wrong, it's just what it is.
now i can't wait for my next trip back :)

oh tawny, my kindred food spirit. :) i love that you're such a foodie!!! case in point: we're going to portland after j+b's wedding, and all i've gotten confirmed is every food stop we're going to make/truck we're gonna track down/and late night spot to get dessert.
any recs in portland?
i just stumbled across your blog and i must say i'm so hooked! i notice we share a common love for local eateries, LA county and photography :)
Wow that looks like an amazing array of food there. Such deliciousness!
And I like your photos too!
these food trucks seem to be a west coast rage - cuz ive never seen them in chicago. and so cool you went to serendipity - i tried to go to one in NY and the line was over 2 hours long. if i had more time, i would have waited - but everyone said its so worth it!
your blog is quickly becoming my lv food guide! thank you for that!!! :)))
j.
um, vegas and disneyland in one week?? are you trying to make me hate you?? just kidding!!
i LOVE the bellagio buffet!!!
your vegas trip looks so much more fun than mine haha, or should i say much more delicious! i'm going to have to try blt and retro bakery next time.
i think i ordered the wrong things at max brenner, because everything i had didn't really WOW me. the burgers were really good though! the chocolate pizza was OKAY- kind of simple for $8. you should try it next time and let me know what you think!
i like your unconventional vegas trip- you know minus all the clubbing crap. haha
