last week i got the chance to travel to upstate new york for work. i assisted two full days of shooting an ad campaign for a hospital in the quaint town of ogdensburg, NY.
ogdensburg is truly in upstate NY. only about a mile and a half of the st. lawrence river separates it from canada. the entire area definitely brought me back to the college days i spent in berrien springs, michigan. everything about that part of NY screams midwest.
even though most of my time was spent working, it was nice to get away and spend some time in a small, slow paced town (it truly is a different world over there). our last night working we finished up early and were even able to drive to alexandria and take a boat out to see some of the thousand islands area.
i enjoyed my quick "getaway" to a small town, but i'm super glad to be back in SoCal :)

my weekend was filled to the brim with love, inspiration, friends, family & beauty.
remember these two? they tied the knot in the mountains of las vegas this weekend. their wedding left me feeling happy, content, inspired & full of love. a whole bunch of things i haven't felt in awhile.
i captured so many images of their beautiful day, it'll be a little bit before i can get through all of them...so for now i'll leave you with a few images from one of my fave places in las vegas.
oh retro, how i love your cookies & cupcakes.
as much as i wish i lived closer to you, it's probably a good thing we're states apart.

Last Monday afternoon I was able to share exactly who my brother was with hundreds of people. His memorial service was, for lack of a better word, simply beautiful. It was a perfect representation of who he was. Without the slightest hint of reservation, I can say that everything went just the way he would have wanted it.
The following is what I said about my brother. Don't worry, it's funny & will hopefully make you laugh {hard} a few, or more, times. I knew I wanted to say something, but I also knew that the only way I would be able to get up to speak about my little brother, without breaking down in tears, was if what I said was funny. And so, here it is. I hope you enjoy & are able to get a small glimpse of just how freaking amazing my brother was.
