well look what i found.

just 4 days after my last watermelon post i go outside to find that 1) all three watermelon plants have flowers! and lots of 'em and 2) i have my first baby watermelon budding!!

that was 2 days ago. this morning i found a total of 5 - count 'em 5! little tiny watermelons a growin'. i couldn't be more proud :)!

well actually vanja and jenn guessed it!...
and now the mystery is solved! i'm growing watermelon!! ❤ i've never grown it before so we'll see if any melons even grow. i'm just happy that the seed sprouted and that its gotten this big! i have 3 plants, only one of them has flowered, but nothing has come of the flowers - yet. keep your fingers crossed..hopefully i'll be able to post pics of tiny budding melons oh so very soon :)

milk, crafts and thai.

i think i ate too much this weekend. given the circumstances, it was a good thing.

first, lunch at milk. it really turned into more of a dessert fest as opposed to lunch. i had enough self control to eat my food first though...well, after my mint chocolate crunch shake that is.

please don't judge, but while i was there - in addition to my shake - i tried a red velvet popper, a moonpie, a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar and the blue velvet cake :)

apparently i was overly excited because the ice cream bar was the only one that was photographed...

and for dinner?...thai food, family style with friends. one of my faves for sure :)


in between eating we spent a few hours at the renegade craft fair. i met some amazing people and came home with some wonderful stuff. we also stopped by a korean market and now my kitchen is filled with lots of korean goodies.

i can safely say it was a great weekend!

took a grand total of two photos. during the second my brother has the bright idea of giving himself a halo. instead ends up with sparks in his hair. after that he was done. haha! i guess we'll try more sparklers another night.

oinkster.

doesn't exactly sound like the name of a restaurant where i'd find a lot to eat and in reality i guess there are only a few items on the menu i would eat, but oinkster is a place i'd like to experience again.

i didn't know until we got there, but apparently guy fieri - from the food network - just recently paid oinkster a visit and left his mark on one of the doors. so i'm guessing you should be on the look out for this place on an upcoming episode of diners drive-ins and dives.

oinkster boasts that its a place for "slow fast food". the homemade thousand island dressing on my veggie burger was pretty good. actually all of their sauces were really good, my favorite was definitely the roasted garlic aioli - one can never have too much garlic! :) oh and the fries were some of the best i've ever had.




you'd never guess, but that shake on the right is an ube shake! unexpected right? let me tell you, it was amazing. i'll probably be dreaming about it tonight. :)
